Welcome to The Deep Rough

The Deep Rough first began in 2006 as my personal corner of the internet to ruminate on golf, review equipment, and share my love for the game. To my surprise, the blog took off, amassing over 50,000 views per month and earning me an invitation to the Nike Oven, Nike Golf's R&D Facility in Texas, for an exclusive event for digital content creators.

But then, life happened. The birth of my beautiful daughter and the start of a new job drew my focus away from The Deep Rough.

Fast forward to today, I've returned to the greens more frequently, producing more content and rekindling my passion for sharing my golfing experiences. The landscape of golf-related content has drastically changed over the past decade and a half with the advent of Youtube, Instagram, and TikTok, yet my love for documenting my personal golfing journey and reviewing equipment remains unchanged.

I believe there's a community of people who connect with that — with the honest, down-to-earth perspective of an everyday golfer. After all, I'm far from a pro; my Index has been as low as 5, though these days, I hover in the low teens. Much of today's content targets average golfers but focuses on equipment made for professionals or tested by machines — a scenario I often struggle to relate to.
