Finally, March 1st is here, the local Somerset County golf courses (Warrenbrook and Quail Brook in particular) are opening, and well, the forecast is for 45 degrees here in NJ today, and mid 40s this weekend. Certainly not ‘ideal’ golfing weather, but I’ll take WHATEVER I can get at this point! I am going to [...]
My wife and I will be heading down to West Palm in March. We’re looking for a course to play while we are down there. Anyone have any suggestions? So far I’ve looked at the following as possibilities: The Breakers – Looks Awesome – Very Expensive Okeeheelee Golf Course – Inexpensive Muni PGA National Golf [...]
Golf Galaxy current has both the Cleveland HiBORE XL and HiBORE XL Tour Drivers available for pre-order. Apparently Vijay Singh has been using the HiBORE XL during the Mercedes Open. I even caught him using it off the deck on one of the par 5s on Saturday. -13 under at the moment, seems to be [...]
First of all, Happy New Year, welcome to 2007! Generally we all set some sort of resolutions for the New Year, which often seem to be forgotten rather quickly. One resolution that always seems to come up is to lose weight or to get in shape. I’m assuming that since you are here, on a [...]
As Balls Out Blog was so kind to point out, I was a little lazy over the Christmas break here, and randomly posted up a Nike Sumo press release for some ‘content’. Please pardon the lack of creativity and content! Though, I thought the Golf Club Distance Calculator was a pretty big release for The [...]
Well, we just got back from our honeymoon. Lucky for me, I married someone who loves golf as much as I do. So we managed to fit 3 rounds of golf into our trip to Cancun and San Diego. I will post some more details later, but I just wanted to post up a few [...]
Ok, so we played 9 holes yesterday at Quail Brook. Probably not such a great idea, as well…there were 20-30 mph wind gusts all day. Swirling ones at that. Apparently I need to learn how to hit a low ball. I never practice such a shot, as well, usually when I play the max wind [...]
I had heard that someone was planning on building a completely synthetic golf course (fake grass/bunkers/etc) in Colorado, but apparently the Aussies will beat them to it. Drought ravaged Rockhampton will begin construction on the world’s first 18-hole synthetic golf course at Zilzie Bay on the Capricorn Coast next month. Built around a spectacular $12 [...]
Well, after a long layoff, I thought I almost forgot how to play golf. But, sometimes that’s a good thing. I ended up shooting an 84 on the Blue/Red course at Bamm Hollow, and that was with a couple mental breakdown holes that resulted in a double and a triple bogey. I really went after [...]
Well, it’s been quite a while, but I’ll finally get to play 18 again this afternoon. Between the weather, earlier sunsets, and just a lack of time, finding time for 18 holes has been nearly impossible. While I’m looking forward to getting to wear long sleeve shirts, I sure do miss summer golf already!
