The Golfsmith summer Friends & Family Sale is almost here! This year Golfsmith is offering up to 40% OFF great golf and tennis gear! This is a very limited time sale and starts 6/26 and ends 6/29. Looks like you can get discounts on a lot of brands, not just the Golfsmith component brands.

Review: Crocs Ace Golf Shoes

Early last summer I purchased a pair of Off Road crocs, and they have rarely left my feet. They are quite possibly the most comfortable casual shoes I have ever owned. I always wear them to the golf course, and am anxious to slip them back on after walking 18 holes. When Crocs purchased Bite Shoes last year, my first thought was wow…when do I get golf spikes on my crocs?. Well, I did not have to wait long. Crocs quickly put together a golf shoe design, that is more than just spikes slapped onto the bottom of a traditional croc: the Crocs Ace.

Tiger Woods - Season Ending Knee Surgery

Looks like Tiger is done for 2008, he’s having another surgery on his left knee. This is very unfortunate!

Review: Power Blade

Everyone wants to add yards to their drive. You know you want to belt it 325 down the middle like Tiger. There are plenty of training aids out there on the market claiming they will add 5..10…25 yards to your drive, but most fall short in delivering on those promises. The problem generally is due to the fact that even with the greatest of training aids, you must put in the work with it to see results. So the challenge for a training aid designer is to create an effective tool that both shows results and is fun to use. Is the Power Blade the answer? We’ll find out!

US Open Live Interactive Coverage

If you were a DirecTV subscriber during the Masters no doubt you saw the awesome interactive coverage. Between all the live on course cameras, interactive scorecard and interviews…it was pretty awesome! Apparently it was successful enough for them to offer the same coverage during this week’s US Open at Torrey Pines. I can’t wait to check this out!

Review: Clicgear 2.0 Cart

Today we have a look at the first cart in our Push Cart Roundup, the Clicgear 2.0. The Clicgear 2.0 introduces a number of improvements over the previous model, most notably a super easy to use folding and unfolding system. We have been using the Clicgear 2.0 for about a month now, and have put together a detailed review of these improvements and the overall performance of the cart.

Review: Heavy Putter C2-DF

If you are a long time reader of The Deep Rough, you know I am absolutely in love with my B3-M Heavy Putter. Earlier this year, Heavy Putter released a new line of Deep Faced putters. The Deep Face raises the center of gravity of the putter, aligning it closer to the equator of a golf ball. This should result in more consistent strikes on the sweet spot of the putter face. So let’s have a look at the Heavy Putter C2-DF and see how it compares to the earlier generation Heavy Putters.

Review: TaylorMade Tour Burner

TaylorMade launch the new Tour Burner line of equipment earlier this Spring with a spirited marketing campaign. The Burner Bloodline website provides great detail and insight into this tour like line of equipment. Unlike the Tour Authentic line from Callaway, the Tour Burner series is not about bringing extremely high priced actual Tour equipment to the hands of the weekend golfer, but about bringing Tour like performance to the rest of us. Can a piece of equipment give us a ball flight like TaylorMade Staffer Sergio Garcia?

Golf Push Cart Roundup

Buggies, trolleys, push carts…golfers from around the world have many names for these two or three wheeled devices to help lug those clubs around the course. Anyone who has pulled a two wheel cart behind them for 18 holes knows that process can be more trouble than it’s worth. The three wheeled push cart has helped transform the task from a painful experience to an easier walk in the park. Over the next week, we will be posting detailed reviews of a couple of the more popular push cart options available. Today we will have a quick look at the carts involved.
