I was sent a couple sleeves of these balls to try out and I posted a review about it on my blog I linked the post to my name, so click on my name to view it). You are correct about the distance, you lose at least 50% of your distance when you hit your driver and the percentage decreases the lower loft club you hit. I've read the max the ball has been hit is 200 yards. Ideally off the tee you hit this ball with a 3 wood. It's definitely an interesting ball/concept, the ball flight is crazy to watch too. They're supposed to be coming out with the Caesar Millie for the lower handicap golfers...

It looks like the only tough spot for this ball is when tees are set back and the hole requires good carry. Putts must roll pretty smooth though.

From the people at Caeser:

Just a reminder: The Caesar Featherie golf ball is not designed to be a distance, performance ball for short handicappers. It’s designed for the golfer who is concerned about accuracy, over distance. What the smooth surface does do, is eliminate hooks and slices.

Off the tee, use a higher lofting club. The ball will not fly as far, but it will roll well. Where you will really love this ball, is 100 yards out from the cup. Chip shots fly straight. On the green, the Caesar putts like a dream

The Caesar ball is perfect for par 3 or executive courses and for golfers with a slower swing. Used as a ball for teaching, the Caesar makes learning golf less frustrating for those new to the sport.

...

That being said, I hope to get my hands on a sleeve of them soon, and I'll see about the distance. I had heard about 50-75% of your usual distance. But that's 2nd hand information.

How far will the ball fly. I thought I read an article at one point saying that a dimpleless ball wouldn't go any further than about 70 yards.
