New Deep Face Putters from Heavy Putter

Not only has Heavy Putter redesigned their website, but they have added a few new Deep Face putters to their heavy putter lineup. We hope to take a closer look at these putters in the near future, but for now, here is some information from Heavy Putter.

The DF, or Deep Face Series is the newest line of innovative putters from Boccieri Golf. The Deep Face technology raises the center of gravity “CG” by combining innovative design elements with a ¼ inch increase in the height of the putter face. By raising the CG, the sweet spot on the face more closely aligns with the equator of the golf ball. With a conventional putter, the golfer must consistently raise the putter approximately ½ inch off the ground in order to strike the sweet spot. Achieving this optimal vertical impact point with consistency is extremely difficult. In fact, with so many putter companies talking about skid-roll and putter face technology, the reality is simply that many golfers are striking the ball too low which causes the dreaded skip and bounce. The DF series sets the CG so that it closely aligns with the equator of the ball, allowing the golfer to simply raise the putter just above the surface to strike the ball on the sweet spot. This optimal transfer of energy results in better roll and more consistent distance control.

The weighting technology that made Heavy Putter famous has not changed in the new 2008 DF line. The new line is true to the original mission of improving consistency. Like the Original, it is roughly double the weight of a conventional putter, which includes a back-weight in the grip end of the shaft. This heavier head mass automatically engages the larger more stable muscles, while the higher balance point created by the back-weighting disengages the smaller muscles in the hands and wrists, promoting a smoother more consistent pendulum stroke. All of the putters in the DF Series, like the Original, are face balanced.

The DF Series features a unique combination of traditional (C, E, and G models) and ground-breaking (D and F models) new designs. With 3 new mallet designs and two new blades, Boccieri Golf now offers a putter head design and shaft configuration for every golfer.

C2-DF

This putter incorporates the patented Heavy Putter technology into the classic blade design. The putter head has CNC milled surfaces and is fully face balanced. The head weighs approximately 465 grams, and there is a 250 gram weight in the grip end of the shaft that creates a balance point that is 75% higher up the shaft than a conventional putter. The overall weight is approximately 850 grams.

E1-DF “American Standard”

This putter features a classic mallet design. The higher center of gravity, which encourages more consistent sweet spot contact, is achieved with the “scoop” on the bottom of the putter as well as by the deeper face. The putter head has CNC milled surfaces and is fully face balanced. The head weighs approximately 465 grams, and there is a 250 gram weight in the grip end of the shaft that creates a balance point that is 75% higher up the shaft than a conventional putter. The overall weight is approximately 850 grams.

G3-DF “Rake”

This putter puts a progressive twist on a classic mallet design. With a smaller head and the carve-out behind the face, this putter has a soft, yet solid feel. The black and white sloping grooves provide ease of alignment, while the raised back and deeper face supports a higher center of gravity for consistent sweet spot contact. The putter head has CNC milled surfaces and is fully face balanced. The head weighs approximately 465 grams, and there is a 250 gram weight in the grip end of the shaft that creates a balance point that is 75% higher up the shaft than a conventional putter. The overall weight is approximately 850 grams.

F3-DF “Stealth”

This sleek and unique design resembles a stealth fighter, but unlike the Saab, it was not “born from jets”. Rather, it was born from logical engineering principles favoring extreme heel-toe weighting and a higher center of gravity. The thin face on the putter creates the pleasing “ping” sound, and the arrow cutout creates an excellent alignment aid. The putter head has CNC milled surfaces and is fully face balanced. The head weighs approximately 465 grams, and there is a 250 gram weight in the grip end of the shaft that creates a balance point that is 75% higher up the shaft than a conventional putter. The overall weight is approximately 850 grams.

D3-DF “Camelback”

This putter features a cutting-edge design with a sound engineering purpose. The “humpback” design raises the center of gravity, which together with the deep face, encourages consistent sweet spot contact. The “rails” on the bottom of the putter allow it to sit perfectly on the green and eliminate “stubbing” when the putter scrapes the green. The putter head has CNC milled surfaces and is fully face balanced. The head weighs approximately 465 grams, and there is a 250 gram weight in the grip end of the shaft that creates a balance point that is 75% higher up the shaft than a conventional putter. The overall weight is approximately 850 grams.
