Adams Insight XTD Driver

Adams Golf announces the launch of the new Insight XTD Drivers, designed specifically for greater distance by expanding the impact zone of the face for maximized ball speed on center and off-center hits and through Boxer Technology, the innovative geometric shaping used in the company’s industry-leading hybrids.

Adams Golf engineers created two different models with the goal of gaining maximum distance for all types of swing speeds. The draw biased Insight XTD a3OS is targeted for slower swing speeds with the CG positioned farther back and toward the heel of the club to help close the face at impact for better distance. The neutral biased Insight XTD a3 features mass properties that achieve optimal launch conditions for medium to high swing speed players.

“We achieved our goal of creating two distinct driver models with one common purpose, more distance,” said Tim Reed, vice president of research and development at Adams Golf. “These are high MOI drivers but not at the expense of less distance like others in the market. By utilizing the advanced shaping and weight distribution of Boxer Technology, we successfully optimized the mass properties for distance first, then forgiveness.”

The design and performance of the Insight XTD Drivers got the attention of the industry’s authority on distance, Long Drivers of America. Beginning in 2008, the Insight XTD will be the official driver of the LDA, which includes the RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship and the Exceptional Driver Championship. The Insight XTD Drivers will be in the hands of the game’s most powerful ball strikers as they compete in the premier event in power golf with long drive’s largest purse.

The Insight XTD a3OS and a3 Drivers feature the new Aldila DVS 55-gram graphite shaft designed for extra kick at impact for more distance. The drivers begin shipping Feb. 1, 2008.
