Ok as you have seen in just about every single infomercial on The Golf Channel, everyone and everybody is trying to sell you a way to fix your slice. I did a search on this on youtube and came up with a ton of videos. With a ton of different ways to ‘do’ it. Unfortunately, everyone’s swing is different. Everyone probably has different flaws causing them to come outside->in and/or leave the club face wide open at impact.
The first thing I would suggest you read is this: Diagnose Your Ball Flight. The Golf Drill Guru does a wonderful job explaining the various ball flight paths and what (in terms of your swing path and club face position) causes that ball flight. It them suggests some possible swing faults that may cause that unintentional ball flight. It’s a good starting point.
Another great thing I’d have a look at is some of Shaun Clement’s videos. Here are a couple that should get you started. He’s got an awesome collection of videos on youtube, certainly enough to keep you busy all winter!
Fixing Your Chicken Wing
Catapult Power
Obviously, the most effective way to remove your slice would be to get yourself some lessons from a PGA or LPGA professional. And then work work work work work on your swing! Given that summer is ‘unofficially’ over and the winter months will be upon us soon enough, now may be a great time to visit your pro and get some lessons tailored to you to work on over the winter. By spring time you should be hitting nice little draws!
Should you not feel comfortable going to see a pro for a lesson….”Oh I don’t want to look like a fool”, “I am not that into golf that I need lessons”, “I don’t need no stinkin pro, I can fix this myself, I’m a self learner!”….by all means, give one of these relatively inexpensive e-books a shot. They offer some great drills to work on and may (if you put in the time, and they address your specific problem) help improve your swing and eliminate that weak ball to the right:

I really liked how you went through the steps of hitting the shot “you want” to hit. Visualizing it and then doing it. This was a great video tip!

Golf is a very demanding and stressful sport on your body. Golf instruction is vital in understanding the mechanics of the golf swing. Golf instruction is not the only element to optimum Golf Performance.
This was the best lesson I ever received over the internet. It was precise, pure and perfect! I took your lesson and went to the range. Guess what? I directed the ball where I wanted it to go not where it wanted to go!
There are many trainers out there but could never relay the message clearly to a learner. The correct direction and emphasis is what needs to be learnt as basics ( rule of thumb) that would certainly build a srong foundation.
Thanks Sean!
