Interview with Jeremiah Bohannon of Frogger Golf

The following is an interview we did with Jeremiah Bohannon, the owner of Frogger Golf, creators of the BrushPro. You can read our complete review of the Frogger BrushPro right here on The Deep Rough. Enjoy!

DeepRough: How did you get into the golf industry?

Jeremiah Bohannon: I entered the golf industry a little over two years ago when I realized I wasn’t getting all I needed out of my commercial real estate career. I decided I wanted to start a company and what better place to do it than where your passion lies? I love the game of golf and felt I had some ideas worth exploring so I took a shot. I moonlighted in 2005 working on the BrushPro design, went full time in 2006, and debuted BrushPro by Frogger at the 2007 PGA Show in Orlando.

DeepRough: Beyond the BrushPro and Frogger, have you had any other experience in the golf equipment/accessory market?

Jeremiah Bohannon: No, it has been a completely new experience for me. Every day I’m doing something new and I’m enjoying the learning curve I’m still on. I would have to say finding the right connections to get started is the most difficult part and takes some time.

DeepRough: What inspired you to design, develop and sell the BrushPro?

Jeremiah Bohannon: I designed BrushPro because golf brushes are the most effective way to clean grooves and I found products prior to BrushPro either ineffective, difficult to use, snagged my golf towel, or poked me in the finger. I carried the old standard dual sided nylon & brass brush for well over ten years and I always expected someone else to take major steps and solve what I saw as a major inconvenience. I never thought I would be the one to do it. However, given that I wanted to start my own company, it was the perfect opportunity for me to do something with natural passion.

DeepRough: What do you feel sets the BrushPro apart from other similar offerings in the market place?

Jeremiah Bohannon: BrushPro is the only golf brush that has revolutionary combo brush heads (nylon surrounding phosphorous bronze bristles) to reduce injury and towel snags, an extendable and retractable locking groove cleaner, and cost effective replaceable components. BrushPro also has an ergonomic comfort fit handle and comes with a retractable snap back cord which securely attaches to golf bags. All in all, BrushPro is the fastest, most convenient and effective product to clean golf clubs and becomes more and more cost effective through the purchase of replacement brush heads and groove cleaners.

DeepRough: What’s next on the horizon for Frogger?

Jeremiah Bohannon: I have something I consider ten times more revolutionary than BrushPro that I hope to launch in 2008, but it’s too great and too early to talk about. I can tell you that Frogger will be coming out with an innovative BrushPro accessory to clean golf shoes later this year. This golf shoe cleaner will be interchangeable with the current combo brushes and 100% nylon brushes used in BrushPro. This will not be your ordinary golf shoe cleaner!

DeepRough: How often do you get a chance to hit the links?

Jeremiah Bohannon: I had more time to play golf when I was in commercial real estate. I’m embarrassed to say that I only get out and play an average of once a month right now.

DeepRough: What’s in your golf bag?

Jeremiah Bohannon: Alpha RX400 Driver, KZG 3W, 17degree Power Sole Elite Rescue, and TaylorMade Supersteel Burner Irons.

DeepRough: What golf course do you call home?

Jeremiah Bohannon: Poplar Creek Golf Course, San Mateo, CA.

DeepRough: How about your favorite course?

Jeremiah Bohannon: For pure enjoyment, it has to be CordeValle. I have more fun and yet feel very challenged every time I play there.

DeepRough: If you could play with any three golfers, past or present, who would they be?

Jeremiah Bohannon: Hogan, Arnie, and Tiger….Curtis Strange, Jack, and Gary Player would be the second foursome I’d choose.

DeepRough: Have anything else you would like to share with the readers of The Deep Rough?

Jeremiah Bohannon: Get ready for some amazing innovations by Frogger in the next couple years and always “Take Your Best Shot.”
