The Golf Swing

Break 80 then Lucky to Break 100

Played my first round after the 79 last night. Things did not go so well. Many lost balls. Complete lack of concentration for the most part. Really just complete breakdown mentally for me.

It began with noticing 5 enormous school buses in the parking lot. Apparently there was a high school tournament going on. Slow play generally does not bother me, unless my playing partners are freaking out about it. In this case, they were. So, I fed into the freaking out, and shanked a few balls..and well, that was the end of that.

The back nine started off well, as I went birdie, par, par, par. But, a couple errant shots on the 14th, and I pretty much gave up on the day. Oh well, at least the weather was quite nice. I did putt quite well when I had the chance. And my chipping was still pretty good. But, a dreaded case of the shanks on the iron shots pretty much killed any chance of a good score.

Next round will be Saturday afternoon, assuming the weather holds up.
