So, speaking of tickets to the 2007 US Open, I was asked to have a look at the Golf Ticket offerings from Ticket Liquidator. They claim to offer better ticket prices than other major online scalpers ticket brokers. Given that I just did a little review of the prices on TicketCity, this is near perfect timing.
First of all let’s look at the number of events available. Ticket Liquidators lists 21 golf events at the moment, where as TicketCity lists 8 events. StubHub lists 13 events. Granted, some of the events Ticket Liquidators lists are not actually happening any time soon, it is still nice to see a lot of events listed.
Now, how about trying to find tickets? TicketCity immediately shows you the number of tickets available on a particular day along with the general price range for that day. So it’s quite simple to figure out if that particular event day is ‘right’ for you. Ticket Liquidators, on the other hand, simply lists the dates and ‘venue’, along with a link to drill down to view available tickets and prices. Little inconvenient, but not a huge deal. Stub Hub is in between these two, they list the days and prices, but not the number available.
Ok, so we drill down another layer, so we’re actually looking at an event date. Ticket Liquidators now shows a great amount of detail. They tell you the types of tickets available on that day, along with some notes describing the tickets. In the case of the 2007 US Open here is a sample:
TicketCity is a little less ‘pretty’, though still quite functional. I do prefer the Ticket Liquidators though, as it’s just a little more ‘focused’:
Now how about pricing? TicketCity, StubHub and Ticket Liquidators look pretty similar in terms of pricing. Ticket City has some packages that include hotels/etc that look insanely priced, but otherwise looks as if you did some digging you could find reasonably priced tickets at any of these places.
Customer Service/Usability. I haven’t ordered tickets from Ticket Liquidators in the past so I cannot speak from personal experience. Nonetheless, they do offer a 100% guarantee and it was quite simple to find an actual live person telephone number (quite rare these days it seems).
So, if you are on the lookout for some US Open tickets or want to get your hands on tickets to any other sporting event, concert or play, be sure to include Ticket Liquidators in your list of sites to research.
