Yesterday turned out to be quite beautiful, and my wife and I fit in a round of golf at Spooky Brook (4.39 Mile Walk) in the early morning. Little chilly to start, but things thawed out and got quite warm..ok..well in the low 60s at least! I was out of sync all day, never seemed to get on track with my tee shots, but still managed an 87 thanks to some nice short game work and putting.
I hit several more pulls, and did some digging, which ultimately drew me back to some Ben Hogan information. I read an interesting article on Golf Digest about Hogan’s other secret, regarding his right knee. Sounded interesting and I do notice that my right knee gets pretty straight on my backswing. I went back and watched In Pursuit of Perfection again, and tried to pay close attention to Hogan’s right knee. His right knee moving toward the ball definitely seems to be his first move on his way back to the ball. So I gave this a try at the driving range, with very little success. Silly really, I can’t expect to be able to try to use that move without actually practicing it for quite a while without a ball in front of me.
So, back to the topic here. I was randomly looking at drivers on eBay, specifically wondering how much these Ozik shafts cost. I came across a TaylorMade SuperQuad with an Ozik TP7 shaft. The Buy It Now price is $1150?!?!! Wow. I can see spending a couple hundred bucks on a driver. I can almost see paying $400 for an FT-i. But, $1,150? If anyone out there wants to buy me one to test out, please let me know!
Is the shaft really worth $1000 to someone?

Spooky Brook looks nice. From the sky at least. You guys are lucky, it was in the 50s here on Saturday but the ground’s still frozen and there’s still plenty of snow on the ground. Supposed to be real cold this week. Oh well.
Hey Patricia…yeah…it’s getting darn cold here now. VERY windy, supposed to drop into the teens tonight. Snow in the forecast for Wednesday. Guess we’ll have to wait another couple weeks before getting to play again
Spooky Brook is alright. Nice for a county course. Not many trees, so a nice course to play early in the season
