Golf Club Distance Calculator

If you were ever interested in an easy way to glance at the yardages covered by the clubs in your bag, we have put together a little tool one can use to calculate your club distances. The Deep Rough Golf Club Distance Calculator is still in testing, but I wanted to post up a link to this initial version. The download and print links are not working at the moment, but you should get an idea of how it will work. Check it out!

If you have any questions or comments regarding the tool, please feel free to drop a comment in this post.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

  3. Neat! I just put the kids to bed (they’re asleep waiting for Santa) and spent a few minutes playing around with this thing. Really cool! I plugged in my info, set up the clubs I carry, and wow! – the calculator nailed it. I thought the distances it spit out were spot on. One exception was my 7-wood comes out dead equal to my 4-iron. I think it is more like the 3-iron that I dropped when I put it in the bag. Other than that I’d say the results were perfect.

I just posted a link to this post on my (very) recently resurrected blog – golfscribe.blogspot.com. I’ll definitely be looking forward to seeing the final version.

    Thanks!

  4. This worked pretty well for me when I entered my info — it seemed to nail my distances pretty closely. Next, I entered my wife’s information and while the distances listed on the left were pretty accurate, however, I may have discovered a bug: the graph on the right did not change from my output.

  6. Good stuff. It figured my distances pretty well. Obviously the 5-iron is a no brainer, since you give this as an input, but it figured my driver distance pretty well.
I posted an article on my blog about this. See website link.
    Cheers

  7. Your golf club distance calculator will not run. Displays Runtime Error. An interesting change that could be added to the calculator is the ability to manually enter in the loft of the clubs being used.

  8. I was looking for a good golf club distance calculator since I fucked up pretty well yesterday evening during a testing round on a 6 par 3 holes course.
Except for hole 1, I was ALWAYS way to short, but that’s mainly because I already tested hole 1 the week before.

Anyway, your calculator is pretty cool, I have to say, great ! also the idea of the club selection is cool ! I like that too.
Unfortunatly you don’t “order” the clubs on the bar chart.

I made a little picture of the values, and try it next week with this as a guide.

  9. I found out today that your distance calculator isn’t working. I really hope this is temporary. I use it to track my game strength progress.

There are an infinite number of excuses in golf for hitting a bad shot, but few sound more irrational than blaming your clubs. But in some cases, blaming a bad shot on your clubs may not be ridiculous at all. Having your clubs fitted specifically for y…
