The Hibore fairway woods do look appealing...Cleveland's hybrids are some of the best. The newest really gives a great feel to both good and off-center shots.

You certainly will have a lot of Drivers to test out! I hit the original HiBore a couple times, and it was alright. The shape didn’t bother me too much either. To some degree, the little slope in it made it feel relatively small. Nice post.

The Hibore fairway woods certainly look neat. I haven’t tried hitting one. I still have some mental block with fairway woods that prevents me from ever hitting one straight.

I also found the original Hi-bore ok. The straightness led me to believe they are on to something. Didn't like the feel on off-center hits, seemed to vibrate too much. And I also thought the head looked smallish.

Currently I have a Callaway X Tour Fairway #3 and a Sasquatch...neither of which I can hit.

I'm looking forward to trying these. I've pre-ordered thanks to Kiel C. who, by the way, talks about the HiBORE Fairway woods <a href="http://www.travelgolf.com/blogs/travelgolf.this.week/2006/12/18/portugal_is_europe_s_little_known_golf_g" rel="nofollow">here</a>

The great thing about the "driver wars" is that every time a wave of new technology (or gimmicks - you decide) comes along the prices on everything else drop. I still have a hankering for an R7. But I have high hopes for the Ashton - it's a really nice looking head. I'm a follower of Wishon - anything bigger than 400 cc and 44" long is probably not really going to help me. That'll be my great experiment or next year. I'm going to build the Ashton at 44" and see what happens. I also got a head with another degree of loft - 10* versus my normal 9*. I hit the ball pretty high already, so I think 10* will be good. What I'm hoping is that the extra control from a shorter shaft will help me find both the sweet spot and the fairway more often. But if the Ashton doesn't work out I'll be going full monty for a high tech, super mega size, latest and greatest technology beast of a cannon!

I haven't hit the first Hi-Bore because it was too ugly. I'd like to see what the pro version of this one looks like. Maybe better. I like the new shaft options - you can pick stiff or soft tip. Nice. I'm still in the market for a new driver next year. I have an Ashton head to build. If that doesn't work I'll be looking at everything - even this big ugly square bodied monsters.
