Ok, so I found a link to this free golf game…looking at the screenshots I was a little disturbed. But I downloaded it and gave it a whirl. Not so bad. Actually was quite a bit of fun. Sure, it’s not a realistic golf simulator ala Tiger Woods 07 (not that one would mistake that game for real golf either), but playing against other players makes this game pretty neat.

I played about 4 matches so far, against 3 or 4 people each time. It is a multiplayer online game where you can compete with people from around the world. The interface to get into these matches was quite simple, and the games filled up very quickly. The default settings have you play a stroke play match over 3 holes, so it doesn’t take too long. There is even a little timer that will eject players who are not paying attention…so you won’t have to wait for your shot forever.
Apparently you can buy yourself all sorts of equipment, clothes, etc. Much like the Tiger Woods series, but think pumpkin on your head instead of a Mizuno cap.
While the graphics aren’t PS3 quality, they are certainly pretty acceptable. Not really any worse than Tiger Woods on my PC. I do find it slightly sad that I have resorted to a cartoonish, anime golf game to give me my golf fix!

I love cartoonish anime games! We’re expecting a noreaster here in CT so I’ll probably be playing this a lot over then next couple of days. With the pumpkin hat.
Well be sure to let me know if you enjoyed it!
I played it for another hour or so last night, it’s pretty addictive!
Wow, looks interesting but still not ahead of Tiger Woods ‘07 and that other game with the plastic club controller.
It definitely is not nearly as cool as tiger woods ‘07. However, it is free!
I haven’t played the new golf game on the Nintendo Wii, but that looks like it should be fun, with that controller they have.
